For much of my life I’ve never truly and completely identified with Prospero. Many have told me, many have made the connections for me, explained to me how to identify. I never quite understood until lately — Prospero stands not as a character unto himself, he stands not for any one individual as well. In this way, neither you nor I shall ever identify with Prospero, for he stands for the magician, the magician of the past and future — of which we are not.
However, this diary shall become Prospero. This diary shall serve to be the connection between the book and the staff, the conduit for my visions and your mind. Just as Prospero must have his magical texts, this is mine. Enjoy the waves and the troughs.
